POSITION: Telephone Operator with Computer Skills          LOCATION: Cleveland East-Side Hospital

                                   

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Telephone Operator works under the supervision of the Manager of Information Services and Telecommunications Lead; conducts all telephone and paging activities; monitors emergency alarm systems; stays current with hospital communications and updates; performs routine clerical duties; performs miscellaneous related duties; performs other duties as assigned.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Conducts all telephone and paging activities by operating the 302D Definity Console and the InfoRad program and maintains patient location in the Meditech System
Monitors Hospital Emergency Alarm Systems including Oxygen Alarm, Fire Alarm, and Code Blue Alarms
Uses Mox and Outlook email to remain current on hospital communications and checks internal department notes daily
Performs clerical duties including printing the daily census; recording pages, emergencies, and long distance calls; keeping notes, and preparing the Daily On Call Schedule
Performs miscellaneous related duties including notifying Telecommunications Lead of updates and issues, replacing pager batteries, making copies, and maintain a clean work environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REUIREMENTS:

High school graduate or equivalent
Previous PBX or Call Center experience preferred
Superior customer service and verbal communication skills
 Demonstrated PC skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook)
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation

HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION

40 hours per week. 7:00 am -3:30 pm,  and evening hours  may vary shift, 3:00 pm, - 11:30 pm or 3:30 pm – 12:00 am. You will be given your schedule a month in advance
Pay is $14.00-$14.75 per hour
